Hi, I’m Rafe! (That’s pronounced like “Rayf,” BTW.) I am a CompTIA-certified keyboard monkey from Utah, USA, where I live with my wife and kids. Aside from fixing computers, which is both my day job and #1 hobby, a few of the other things that I also enjoy are camping, hiking, and going on road trips.
On this blog, as well as my vlog over on YouTube, a common theme you will see is me advocating for the right to repair our property, whether that be our cars, kitchen appliances, computers, phones, or anything else. I firmly believe that everyone should have the option to repair their own things, with parts, manuals, and tools readily available, or choose to have a repair provider of their choice do those repairs.
Other topics that I frequently cover are…
- Parenthood – being a proud dad of two awesome little boys, I like to share my experiences living the #DadLife.
- Tech News – like any good computer geek, I like to keep up on what’s happening in the tech sector, even if my interests are usually more focused on older stuff, the cutting-edge gizmos are interesting, too!
- Diet & Exercise – as I struggle with my own bad eating habits and laziness I like to share lessons that I learn and things that I’m trying in order to be a happier, healthier version of me in the hope that it might inspire others to do the same.
- Atheism – it’s not the dirty word that many people seem to think it is. Personally, I consider myself a Secular Humanist and often like to share my thoughts on topics from this perspective as well as spread the word that atheists aren’t bad people – in fact, some of the kindest, most charitable people I’ve met are atheists and agnostics.
